HenryHello, my name is Judy and my husband and I are in the process of adopting our 2 1/2 year old son Henry. Our Journey began 3 mos ago and we new all along he had DWS along with FAS. although we had no clue what it meant. He is an active little boy crawling and babling and participating in early intervention. I know very little about DWS and would love to know more. However this morning we discovered that our angel has an irregular heart beat. We go to the cardiologist on monday. I was just wondering if this condition is part of or result of him having DWS. 2 comments to HenryYou must be logged in to post a comment. |

Hi Judy,
Congrats on your adoption!! Its great that Henry is in Early Intervention, its a great program and will not only help Henry but help you learn things you can do to help him as well. As for heart problems, unfortunatly yes sometimes cardiac conditions can be associated with DW. I’m glad your seeing a cardiologist right away, they will be able to tell you more. We have one family that comes to mind that are dealing with DW & heart problems, if you look at our blogroll on the right you’ll find Little Louise, her mom is great and their story is worth reading. Although Louise has heart problems, has already had one surgery and is scheduled for another later this month she is doing very well. We’re more than happy to answer any questions you have about DW and our website is full of various information that may help as well. If you happen to have facebook we have a very active group of families there as well, they are always willing to share information and their own personal experiences. You’ll find a link on the bottom of our home page, feel free to join if you’d like.
After two seperate visits to the cardiologist they have determined that there is nothing wrong with his heart. Praise God! Due to the facts of his history no one has explained his diagnosis to me. I know that he does not have hydrocephalus but what else should I be asking about? I don’t want my ignorance on the subject to end up hurting him.Our specialists have not been very helpful however his pediatrician is trying.
