12 yr old with DW variantHi! My 12 year old daughter was diagnosed with DWV while I was pregnant with her. She had a shunt placed at 3 months old and revised at 9 yrs old. She seems to have a very low immune system because she has been hospitalized several times due to illness that anyone could get. She is at grade level for her age in school and has developed pretty normal. She was delayed in walking and has vision problems but other wise a normal kid that I have to keep in mind her medical condition so I don’t miss anything. She would like to talk to someone that is her age about what she has gone throw. She seems to be embarrassed about her condition and hates when I tell people about it. I have to tell people when she does things like cheerleading just in case something happens the coach needs to know. If anyone can help me out whether you have gone throw this or have a child and are going throw it now. I would appreciate the advise. Also anyone with a child that would like to talk to mine you can email us. jildegraced@sbcglobal.net 1 comment to 12 yr old with DW variantYou must be logged in to post a comment. |
