Cord Blood and DW with Hydrocephalus

I am 34 weeks pregnant and our baby was diagnosed with DW when I was 19 weeks and later diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. I was wondering if anyone had saved their child’s cord blood and used it to possibly treat the DW and Hydrocephalus.

We didn’t have the opportunity since my granddaughter was diagnosed a day or two after she was born but my daughter wishes she had. I’m not aware of any current treatments that are available although who knows what the future holds in medical research. I know it can be rather expensive but someday it may be worth it.

I highly encourage you to consider saving your child’s cord blood. My son has hyrdocephalus and we banked his cord blood. He has had 2 infusions (one when he was 6 weeks old and the second when he was 13 months). I believe that it has helped him. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information.
