What is Early Intervention???As an aunt I have read some articles and entries about Early Intervention. What is it and what consists of Early Intervention? Has anyone seen any difference being in it. My niece had physical therapy but hasn’t had it since she was like 4mths, is this the same? Should we ask for this to be given back to her? 2 comments to What is Early Intervention???You must be logged in to post a comment. |

Early intervention is a collection of therapies. My son who has no medical issues went for speech therapy and they help him at the age of 3 get into a preschool and setup for help through school. They only help til a certain age my son started at 2 and they passed him on to the schools at 3. My daughter with Dandy-walker went because of her gross motor delays. Early intervention is really helpful and every child that has delays should look into it. Every little bit of help you can get is the best for you and the child.
My daughter see early intervention her doctor referred her while we was still in the hospital because sometimes it is very hard to get in the program. They see the child until age three in my state and they can either enter private therapys or anything the school can provide. They are amazing. They kept my daughter on track with her milestones, the problems she has is mostly in her legs so it did take her a long time to walk. but it is a great program
